Really nice review! I enjoyed Juniper and Thorn myself. A lot of the content was difficult but there is some imagery crafting in that novel that is burned into my memory in a really beautiful way. (It's also one on the only books to ever sell me on a 'connection at first sight' kind of romance.)
So true! I usually have a terrible memory when it comes to books, I’ll remember how I felt about them but usually remember next to nothing about what actually happens in them 😂 but there are some moments in this book that are burned into my memory too (also in a good way!). I love Ava Reid’s writing style. If you enjoyed the prose and atmosphere of this book and haven’t read her other works, I highly recommend checking them out!
I’m a third-person-POV-devotee, so Wolf and the Woodsman wasn’t for me, but if you enjoy first person just as much you may get more enjoyment out of it!
I muchhhh prefer third person as well! First person can feel a bit juvenile to me at times, though if it’s written well enough I end up getting used to it and don’t mind it so much. :)
If you like Ava Reid vibes, I would highly recommend Where the Dark Stands Still by A.B. Poranek. I recently did a review on it—I absolutely LOVED that book. (And it’s third person!)
